Hoffman Estates attorney Michael S. Purves graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983 with majors in Economics and International Relations. He obtained his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 1990. He was admitted to practice in Illinois in 1990, and he is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit as well as the United States District Court for both the Northern District and Central District of Illinois.
Michael has practiced law in the Chicago area for many years, with experience in general civil litigation, family law, and workers’ compensation law. Most recently, he has represented individual clients through The Purves Law Firm, LLC in Wadsworth, Illinois. He has also provided extensive assistance to clients of Administer Justice, a Christian legal aid organization located in Elgin, Illinois. In 2010, he won Administer Justice’s True Justice Award for outstanding service to those in need.
Michael joined Pluymert, MacDonald & Hargrove, Ltd. in 2011, concentrating on such areas of family law as adoption, divorce and custody. The Hoffman Estates lawyer also practices general civil litigation.
In addition to his impressive legal experience, Michael is an experienced professional pilot, qualified airline captain and pilot instructor. He has flown for Midwest Airlines, and both flew, and trained and qualified pilots for a regional airline and for an air freight company.
Michael is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Lake County Bar Association.
